Introducing Myself - Michael Wilcox
Hello there people.
I am Michael John Wilcox and I am 18 years of age. Recently I finished A-Levels in Maths, Business and Economics in which I got ABB respectively. Subsequently I will be heading off to my first University of choice, Exeter, in near enough exactly two weeks time. There I will study Economics with Econometrics. My interests are small and boring, but they include wasting life away on the internet, other areas of computing and not a lot else really. I suppose a key interest is helping make the world a better place, i.e. fairer, freer and with more prospects and development.
My interest in the UK Independence Party started in 2004 during the EU elections once I saw a billboard poster for the party. I thought, I can agree with that, I shall look into this party. I did and found that they were perfect, addressing the key issues that we face as a country in this day. Not only that, but I know now they, or should I say we, are a fresh alternative to the stagnant big three parties. Ironically three years on I would help the farmer who placed up that billboard campaign for office in the 2007 county council election. A small world! So I joined in late 2005 and began to become active at branch level the following summer. Since I have helped the branch establish a website and operate in the billboard campaign managed and developed by Trevor Coleman.
My concerns are of course with migration, taxation, 'equality' in this country, crime, fairness and individual liberty. You may find my politics can be very confused - I find that there is no simple answer to anything and every situation should be looked at its own merit. This is one of the reasons why I don't like the EU, to use a tried and tested phrase, far too 'one size fits all' :).
