Hi guys,

Im Wayne Harling and I have been selected by Del to be the Executive Chairman of Young Independence for the first year of this project.

I joined UKIP in the autumn of 2004 and have been an acitive member since starting university in 2005. I am going into my final year at Keele University studying politics. I have been onboard Young Independece from the very beggining but before that, I founded a student society of UKIP in keele.

I have stood in 2 elections for UKIP, both in 2007. One at the May Borough council election in newcastle-under-lyme in the keele ward, and the second time at a Staffordshire County Council By-Election in Keele, Westlands and Thistlebury ward achieving over 8% of the vote while competeing against long standing and experienced borough councillors.

I would geatly encourage all Young members of good standing to take a more active role in electioneering and consider standing as a candidate.
