Record UKIP result in General Election.
With the dust settled on the General Election, UKIP has won over 900,000 votes in what is a record result for the Party. As well as talking about the EU, the Party has the first time provided an alternative on every policy area for the electorate.
"Unfortunately our outdated voting system has meant that with a nearly a million votes, UKIP still doesn't have representation in the House of Commons", Young Independence Chairman Michael Heaver said.
"But what is clear is that more and more people are voting for UKIP in General and Local elections. UKIP is now providing people with a radical alternative at the ballot box that can give them a more prosperous, equal and fair society than the Conservative-LibDem coalition government is going to.
"I am also very pleased with the amount of coverage UKIP's young members in YI have got at this election. We are not just a political Party with a very bright future, but the Party of the future."
