No wonder the Conservatives lead in the polls is declining. Yesterday David Cameron announced the six key themes on which the Tories are going to contest the next General Election. They are: dealing with Britain's debt, boosting enterprise, make Britain more family-friendly, backing the NHS, raising standards in schools and "changing politics".

Well that last ones a laugh for a start. It is Cameron and his chums who have presided over the total destruction of Parliament's credibility. It is UKIP who now propose to really put MPs in their place by proposing purpose-built halls of residence for MPs when they are in London, instead of the second-home allowance. This is a system used well in Sweden and ensures that the cost of MPs to the taxpayer in the long-term is greatly diminished. The Olympic Village currently being built in London would be perfect. No doubt this is of no interest to the likes of David Cameron who is more used to the limo treatment that trudging from East London to Parliament every day.

It is no wonder the Tories are declining in popularity in most of the polls. This isn't a resurgent Labour, but a symptom of a Conservative Party which is saying very little for people to get excited about. Of course we need to get the country back on the road to economic recovery, but why don't we boost the country's coffers by stopping our daily payments of £45 milliont to the EU, no to mention the costs brought on by excessive business regulation brought in via Brussels.

But what of anti-social behaviour that blights people's lives? Why aren't the Tories going to make "saving the planet" one of their key election themes when "Dave" has banged on so long about the catastrophy we face via global warming, even going to far as to change his Party's logo to a tree? Still no serious intention of dealing with Britain's discriminatory immigration system and no intention of mentioning anything to do with the European Union? This avoidance of the real tough issues facing Britain is why few can relate to the Tories.

I hope those considering voting Conservative simply to get Labour out think again. David Cameron's manifesto is not going to propose the radical change people in Britain now crave, it is merely going to tinker around the edges. Right now our country needs so much more than that.
