The EU: The (dys)functional family By Michael Heaver
The EU is shoved down the British people’s throats through the idea of collectivism. The idea, that we must be a part of this huge bureaucratic entity in order for our country to thrive. As we know, such claims amount to little more than scaremongering tactics. We know this because Norway and Switzerland have thrived outside of the EU and yet are still key players when it comes to European trade.
However, even this warped line of thinking made to provoke a feeling of insecurity among ordinary British people like you and me, has over the years been proven to fall down again. And again. And recently, yet again.
Bulgaria has recently agreed for the South Stream pipeline to be allowed to go ahead. Quite simply, this is going to greatly enhance Russia’s reputation as the king of oil in the continent of Europe as the pipeline will transfer Russian gas under the Black Sea and into southern Europe. That’s fine. That’s the choice of the Bulgarian government.
The big problem and the complete contradiction going on here is that Bulgaria has rejected the EU’s rival project, the Nabucco project. The Nabucco project was intended to stop Europe’s over-reliance on Russia for natural resources. It would seem that, shock horror, countries like Bulgaria don’t actually care about working towards ‘European unity’. Their joining is for benefit only, benefit that we in Britain do not see. As we know though, Bulgarians will benefit from us as they are free to come and settle here as they please.
The EU is not working, is not achieving and we do not need it.
